life

/many/adventures. parties and sights in rio. iguazu falls. crazy market city in paraguay. outrageous hair styles in buenos aires. biking in uruguay. wandering around porto alegre. lounging in georgeous (and clean) florianopolis.

/each/city in brazil is another world. i am learning so much about the country. every day. (especially south of rio from the whole country.)

/last/week. i was at broken bottle point. from a homeless man wanting money. to supply get crack. i´m sure he was on it at the time. i threw my cell phone. he did not cease. yanking me by the hair. he revealed a broken beer bottle from under a plastic bag. went for my head. my guardian angel was definately watching me. bottle fell on the ground. after i started screaming ´´jorge.´´ the name of our buildings doorman. he took off. so did i. realizing i was covered in blood. found another homeless guy going through the trash. he walked me back to my building.

/after/a hospital visit. left with a neck brace. could not hold my head up on it´s own. my host dad stopped counting after 10 stitches in my finger. my whole hand had to be wrapped.

/now/i only have a small bandage over the stitches on my finger. because of some missing skin. glass in my finger. it still needs a while to seal up.

/bartended/last night. birthday party. of my host-cousin. she is also a study abroad student. from lesoto/south africa. (looking into bartending this fall. anyone have connections.?) the party had people from all over the globe. the best music. (which includes more hip hop than forró.) never went to such an eventful party. now. our international and brazilian friends are saying americans throw the best parties. yes.

/classes/are winding down. got less than a month left of classes. (yes.) professors have to make sure their classes end before: são joão & world cup. or no one would keep going to classes. bahians just like to relax. party. drink. dance.
